Testosterone

Men’s testosterone levels have declined over the years. Unlike women, who often experience a sudden change in hormone levels, men typically undergo a slower, more gradual shift that can easily be mistaken for normal aging, stress, or reduced activity. We carefully review your lab results with you and discuss tailored treatment options designed to restore motivation, increase energy, and help you become the man you know you can be. We provide an initial evaluation, comprehensive lab work, personalized medication regimens, and ongoing monitoring to ensure safe, effective progress. No single plan is right for everyone, so we individualize your treatment to match your specific needs. By taking a thorough, comprehensive approach in our evaluation, we can also identify other issues that may mimic low testosterone and address them appropriately.

Sexual Health

Did you know that 50% of men over the age of 50 suffer from one form of ED. That also means that 40% of men in there 40% and 60% of men in their 60 also have this problem. This can be a cause of depression and relationship turmoil for not just the patient but their partner as well. We take a multifactorial approach to find out why and discuss options for treatment. This includes the use of medications like Viagra and Tadalafil. We also offer blood draw STD testing as well.

Medical Weight Loss

Obesity is the leading risk factor for numerous medical conditions that raise your likelihood of long-term health problems. Conditions such as diabetes, heart disease, joint pain from degeneration, and other related complications can limit your ability to maintain a normal, active lifestyle—not only reducing physical fitness but also impacting daily function and overall well-being. Regardless of your current fitness level, we can assess your individual needs, monitor your progress safely, help you stay accountable, and provide personalized prescription therapies when appropriate. While medications can support progress, they are rarely effective on their own without a comprehensive plan; even medications tend to fall short when used in isolation. GLP-1 medications are a useful clinical tool, and when integrated into a well-designed, multidisciplinary plan they can meaningfully help patients reach and sustain their goals.

Thyroid Managment

One of many conditions that can leave you feeling fatigued, low in motivation, or struggling to complete daily tasks is low thyroid function. As part of our approach, we look for potential causes that may be contributing to your symptoms during your initial lab work. Many medical issues can present with similar signs, and we aim to provide as clear and complete a picture as possible of your overall health.

Peptides

Peptides are an emerging area of medicine gaining rapid interest. These small, naturally occurring compounds in the body are now being developed to support a range of functions, including tissue healing, cellular growth, metabolism, and physical performance. As the FDA clarifies guidance and more peptides become appropriate for pharmacy compounding, we plan to expand the number of approved compounds offered for both at-home and in-clinic administration. Although some well-known drugs and hormone-related therapies such as GLP‑1 analogs used for weight loss fall into the broader peptide category, many other peptides exist beyond those familiar names. A caution: numerous research peptides are marketed online with limited clinical study, uncertain purity, and poorly understood side effect profiles, so careful sourcing and medical oversight are essential.

John Garren NP

John has worked in the medical field since 2001. He began his career as an EMT in a busy 911 system in South Carolina and was later promoted to a degree paramedic. As he advanced his skills and knowledge, he became a rescue technician, providing aid while extricating people from dangerous situations. Driven by a passion for trauma and cardiology, he returned to school to earn his nursing degree. While working as a nurse, he progressed from an ADN to a BSN and then an MSN, serving as a cardiac nurse in the cath lab.

After becoming a nurse practitioner, he continued practicing in cardiology, treating patients with chronic and critical illnesses—many of whom could only maintain a chronic disease state. When he discovered his own low testosterone and experienced how it affected his ability to care for patients and be present for his family, he founded Modern Mens Clinic.
